Flexible content

Allows the insertion of any type of markup (HTML, JavaScript) that can be placed on a page.

For instance, functions from external websites can be integrated into own pages.

The use of this element can undermine the data protection and security of your website. Please use it with extreme caution.

In order to be able to use these settings optimally, advanced technical understanding and knowledge of HTML and CSS are helpful.

The integration of external service providers using flexible content may be relevant under data protection law. For example, external service providers often set their own cookies, which may NOT be blocked by the cookie banner when using flexible content. Flexible content should only be used to integrate external service providers if all data protection questions have been clarified.

This element may set cookies in the “External Content” group.

This element may use JavaScript from external servers.

The execution of flexible content is OPTIONALLY controlled by the cookie banner. If the option External cookies required is selected in the flexible content, it will NOT be displayed if the web user has not consented to external cookies.

Cookies may be set when loading a page with flexible content with embed code. These may include tracking functions for the web user. Whether cookies are actually set depends on the embed code used.

External JavaScript files from third-party servers may be loaded for this element. These are executed in the context of the page. This theoretically enables extensive tracking of the web user's activities on the displayed page. Whether JavaScript is actually loaded and whether it is used for tracking depends on the embed code used.

When initially loading a page with flexible content, a preview image or text preview can optionally be displayed first. When the page is loaded, no data is transferred to external servers. In this case, only when the web user clicks on the preview is the external code activated.

The execution of flexible content can be made dependent on the user's consent to the use of external content (or cookies). To do this, the option External cookies required must be activated in the flexible content.

This element offers the option of only being executed after the user clicks on it. As long as the user has not clicked, a preview is displayed, which can be customized. This allows the user to be informed in advance about data protection aspects of the usage of external code, for example.

Load message from X
When clicked, code is loaded directly from X's servers.

The additional element setting Visibility is available for flexible content. This allows flexible content to be specifically shown or hidden on large or small screens.

However, if the option External cookies required is activated in the flexible content, the flexible content is always displayed for data protection reasons, meaning that the element setting Visibility is ignored in this case.

This flexible content is only visible on large screens!
