Search function

The search function is used to display the results of the integrated full-text search.

A full-text search can be initiated via a search slot or via the integrated search function in the main navigation.

The results of the full-text search are displayed on a function detail page for the search. This is usually already configured in the master copy for the website.

The search function can be controlled via the Search directly element setting to determine if results are displayed without entering a search term. By default, no results are displayed without a search term.

Furthermore, the number of entries directly displayed for the facets can be controlled via the Number of facet entries element setting. By default, 10 entries are displayed directly in the facets.

In addition, the display of facets can be deactivated. To do this, enter the value 0 in the Number of facet entries element setting.

The following can also be specified via the search function's element settings:

  • The number of hits displayed on a page.
  • The file modification date can be optionally displayed for the search results.
  • The type label of the search results can be optionally hidden.
  • The text excerpt of the search results can be optionally hidden.
  • ...

There is also an element setting that allows you to customize the placeholder text for the search slot. The default is “Enter query”.
